Welcome to Frederick Elementary PTA!

Welcome to our website!

We are very excited to communicate how our organization is involved with the school and the community. We are changing and updating this website all the time, so please feel free to comment on the site, offer suggestions to make it better, or ask any questions you may have.

What is PTA?

The letters PTA stand for “Parent Teacher Association”. On the national and Colorado State level, PTA is a 100-year-old organization that was built with the interest of children as its core. The PTA slogan is “Every Child, One Voice”. National PTA has the experience and resources to help schools and families at the local level. I urge you to check out the Colorado PTA website – www.copta.org.

Why Join PTA?

Becoming a member gives you a chance to give your input, opinion, and ability to vote about activities, fundraising, and how funds are spent.

More than 30 years of research shows that children do better when their parents and families are involved both at home and at school. Schools improve. Grades and test scores rise. Self- esteem grows. You can make these outcomes a reality for you child and school by being involved in PTA.

Here are 5 great reasons to join:

1) Be better informed. PTA helps you keep up with what’s happening at your school.

2) Make connections. Whether you attend PTA meetings and events or just stay connected via e-mails and newsletters, through PTA you’ll connect with others who share your concern for children and their education.

3) Be a positive role model. Through your involvement in PTA you can show your child and other children how much you value education and how being involved and giving back can make a difference.

4) Speak up. PTA is a forum for exchanging ideas. Your membership can be a means to effectively suggest changes at the school and to be involved in making them happen. Be part of the solution not the problem.

5) Access great resources. When you are part of PTA, you have access to resources on parenting and other important topics.
